Long before Bessie's Best was a thing, there was Bessie Dawson, a loving mother of twelve whose homemade fruitcake brought her family together every holiday season. The delicious blend of spices and candied fruit filled her kitchen with warmth and joy.

Years later, her son Joe, stationed in Germany during his Army career, found himself missing that beloved fruitcake. So, he called Bessie for the recipe, and a wonderful tradition was born. He started baking her fruitcake for himself, and soon his siblings and friends were enjoying it too! 

With all the love and nostalgia he received from compliments like, “This tastes just like my childhood!” Joe decided to share the joy and started selling extra cakes. Thus, Bessie's Best was born, named after his amazing mom.
